LCM
Low pressure Compound Molding is a technique that is used for higher amounts of products.
We close the mold using presses after inserting the resin.
We work with solid heated lower and upper mold often milled (but it can also be constructed in epoxy composite material).
After applying the gelcoat we insert the fibers, often we work with preformed fibers.
We can go up to 50% glass.
The high pressure diffuses the resin trough the fibers.
Advantages of this technique
- High quantities;
- Small lead-time;
- Possibility for high volume ratio of fiber;
- Clean technique;
- Use of preforms;
- Big parts are possible;
- Lower labor expenses.
