Low pressure Compound Molding, is a technique that is used for higher amounts of products. We close the mold using presses after inserting the resin.
We work with solid heated under and upper mold often milled (but can also being constructed in epoxy composite material).
After applying the gelcoat we insert the fibers, often we work with preformed fibers.
We can go up to 50% glass.
The high pressure diffuses the resin trough the fibers.
Advantages of this technique
Possibility to high volume fraction of fiber;
Use of preforms;
Big parts are possible;
Lower labor expenses.
